I picked up an issue of this cute mag when I was in Christchurch. It’s full of crafty/sustainable goodness, and you can order it online from their website. Kawaii.

My Creative Space this week involves zine covers! I am trying out designs for the print version of lovegeek. It’s fun, but I really want to print on this A7 paper, which will be hard in the long run I think! Eppp!

An actual printed zine!

I am so excited to get started on this. It will feature a collection of interviews from across all 4 issue of lovegeek’s online zine and we will be selling it at the TINA zine fair, and online. All proceeds with be donated to a charity - so if you have any ideas for peeps doing good work out there, give us a bell.

I have been collecting stationary supplies to make the zine pretty. I ordered these cute masking tapes from Uguisu, an amazing shop that ships from Japan.

Sydney, I Love You?

Yesterday I popped in to the annaul SWF zine fair at the MCA intent on buying Lee Tran Lam’s Speakeasy zine, as mentioned here at Hello Sandwich.

It’s a zine all about Self Love in Sydney, and it couldn’t come at a better time. I have struggled with my love/hate relationship with this city, and have fleeting (and not so fleeting) day dreams of returning to Melbourne to live - you know, the artistic city, the cultural city, the city of trams. It seems a lot of Sydneysiders feel the same ‘city envy’, and relish in it on a daily basis. But flicking through the zine last night I realised there is a lot about Sydney I don’t know, there is a lot that I have not discovered, and maybe it’s time I sucked it up and began enjoying this damn city! I mean, we don’t have 25 degree days in winter for nothing!

I have also discovered a cool little enclave of Sydney bloggers who float my boat, and bring more Sydney love to my days. Honorable mentions being Hello Sandwich, The Unbearable Lightness of Being Hungry, Expat Sydney Sister Pretty Pretty Yum Yum (she’ll be back, Amy is a Sydney lover through and through), Seriously Delusional, Tabitha Emma and I am also loving the Inside Out blog!

I’m even thinking of resubscribing to two thousand, now that’s a lot of Sydney Love!

So thanks ladies (and gents) for reopening those old wounds, and helping me to fall in love with Sydney all over again (although I think avoiding public transport has also helped my general feelings of well being).
